Stopgap want to give Disabled leaders of tomorrow an opening to work with a broad spectrum of people; time to listen to differing perspectives and space to experiment in a safe and nurturing environment.
We have created the Future Leaders Programme for Deaf, Disabled and neurodivergent mid-career arts professionals to join the company in paid positions, where they will be immersed in our activities through the support of an experienced and inclusive mentor.
The relationships and inclusive working methods they develop during their time with the company, alongside the ability to self-advocate and their visibility within the industry, will provide a foundation that will underpin their career as a Disabled leader in the arts.
Who should apply?
You must identify as Deaf, Disabled or neurodivergent to apply. You should have interest and previous experience in these areas
It is designed for individuals with 3+ years’ experience working in the arts, who aspire to make an impact in the cultural sector through leadership.
These will be flexible, part-time roles with the work pattern mutually agreed with each individual, but applicants must be able to commit to 22.5 hours a week minimum.
Applications for the first cohort of Future Leaders (starting in January 2024) are open now.
