A full-time* fixed term role for a producer with experience running events for the benefit of local communities.

Greenwich Dance is seeking a producer to join the team in a salaried position to work alongside the CEO & Creative Director, marketing and press team and Arts Trust Productions. The role will primarily be responsible for the delivery of our Summer in the Park festival season. It is anticipated the role will cover a 7 month period from April – October with the possibility of an extension.

This is an exciting time to be joining the organisation as we emerge from the pandemic and take on board the learning that period enabled. In 2023 we are actively seeking to embed ways of working with both artists and our dancing communities which are more collaborative way and we hope will lead to deeper, more authentic engagement and increased creative opportunities.

We are a flexible organisation and work peripatetically utilising community centres, open spaces and urban areas across Greenwich and Bexley. We also take a flexible approach to hybrid working, with staff empowered to work at home or in the office (or indeed from the community centres within which work takes place) with exceptions being team meetings/collaboration days.

The role will also work closely with our Community Engagement Producer and Artists in Residence to dovetail the important Dance for Wellbeing work and Adult Performance Company into our annual Summer in the Park festival programme.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for working and engaging with communities, artists and local businesses. They will love reaching out and speaking to individuals and businesses within the community and coming up with exciting ideas about how to enrich our events, ensuring they have the greatest possible community relevance.

A crucial part of the role will be the formation and ongoing nurturing of community Creator Groups across the borough who each hold a remit to help us curate, plan and deliver events within their own communities. As part of this, you will work to build relationships with local community groups who will be included in the programme, and local businesses who may wish to hold stalls, offer raffle prizes or be part of our reciprocal marketing and promotion strategy.

Working closely with experienced producer Arts Trust Productions, the role also offers an exciting learning and development opportunity for those wishing to continue to work within this field.

The season takes place within Greenwich Dance’s 30th birthday year, and as part of this a crowdfunding campaign is being devised which will be implemented across the season.

Salary: £28,500 (pro rata if the option of part time is taken), 7 month full time fixed term contract with potential to extend.

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours a week full time (not inclusive of a daily hours lunch break.)

*whilst full time is preferable given the scale of the project, in the spirit of offering flexible arrangements particularly for those with disabilities, caring responsibilities or studying/extra-curricular interests we are open to considering a part time position at 0.8 (4 days) per week. However, the candidate must be able to commit to all festival dates.

NB: If any Creator Group dates/times are problematic we are open to you revising these in collaboration with the group members.
