The Leap Festival Awards are open to anyone over the age of 18 who wants to create a new, community based Festival or, in some cases, develop an emerging one.
They can encompass any theme whether it be music, food, rap, dance, spoken word etc. It could also be a Festival highlighting or championing issues relevant to your community. Awards of £500 – £10,000 are being offered for Festivals relevant to the people and places in Bradford and Keighley where engagement with arts and culture is proven to be low.
The Leap Festival Programme is looking for motivated individuals or groups who passionately believe in the transformative impact that arts and culture can make in communities. The programme offers financial and non-financial support to individuals/groups/organisations who want to create new or develop emerging Festivals.
We are looking for new community-led Festivals that set out with the intention to grow and develop impact on a larger scale after the initial support from The Leap. We are especially interested in Festivals that have the potential to become self-sustaining through enterprising approaches.The Festivals must be creative with a focus on arts and culture – in the broadest sense.
The Festival Programme will prioritise support for initiatives that reach people and places in Bradford and Keighley where engagement with arts and culture is proven to be low. Where ever possible your community-based Festival should have an element that is unique and relevant to the community it serves.
