Free residencies at the beautiful Hawkwood in Gloucestershire for Global Majority artists.
What’s on offer?
- Studio space at Hawkwood for one week (Monday – Friday)
- Accommodation in the beautiful 19th century house
- Delicious daily meals prepared fresh on site Opportunity to build a relationship with Strike A Light & Hawkwood
When does it take place?
The weeks available are:
- 4 – 8 December 2023
- 11 – 15 December 2023
- 18 – 22 December 2023
What are we looking for?
- Global Majority artists*
- Professional companies/artists who make contemporary performance (theatre, spoken word, dance etc)
- Companies/artists who feel that Strike A Light’s 7 principles are a good fit with your own ethos, values and way of working and are interested in working with communities or in a co-created way
- We are particularly interested in hearing from artists who identify as LGBTQ+, working class, Disabled, neurodiverse or those with a long term/chronic health condition
An opportunity to be away from the demands of everyday life to focus on your creative practice. You could be rehearsing a show, developing something new or just using the time and space to test ideas.
