Do you have demonstrable experience in producing amazing theatre on a small and large scale? Have you toured extensively in the UK and internationally? Are you experienced in managing large budgets and negotiating complex contracts? Can you foster and maintain excellent relationships with a wide range of people?

We are looking for an experienced Producer to deliver productions of all scales in Stratford-upon-Avon, elsewhere and on tour to theatres and in school settings.  The role will work closely with the Creative Learning and Engagement team and lead conversations with the RSC’s Associate Regional Theatres nurturing those partnerships.

Reporting to the Executive Producer (Stratford), key areas of responsibility include (please see the full job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):

  • To lead and support on the delivery and smooth running of excellent, high quality theatrical productions in line with the strategic and financial objectives of the RSC
  • To lead on the producing of small- and large-scale touring productions involving close collaboration with schools and RSC Associate Regional Theatres and the RSC’s Creative Learning & Engagement team.
  • To lead on booking small- and large-scale tours to schools and Associate Regional Theatres as defined by the RSC’s ACE touring grant requirements (in close dialogue with the RSC’s Creative Learning & Engagement team).
  • To collaborate on tours of productions beyond Stratford, coordinating with other RSC departments.
  • To support on contractual negotiations with tour venues and coproducers on productions and projects
  • To support on contractual negotiations with creative team members and their agents

To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following knowledge and experience:

  • a minimum of three years theatre producing experience including on a large scale
  • Experience of producing participatory work
  • UK and international touring on a large scale
  • Working with writers on new work
  • Working with commercial and other theatre partners
  • Experience of managing large budgets of £500,000 plus
  • Negotiating complex contracts

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months, based in Stratford-upon-Avon but will work across various locations, with some expectation of travel internationally.

You will be working 40 hours per week, 5 days per week, although occasional weekend and evening work will be required.
