Are you passionate about developing creative ideas through collaboration? Do you have the confidence to work with senior colleagues, commission work and oversee projects to completion?

We are looking for an experienced Content Editor to tell the story of the RSC in creative and compelling ways with a focus on the RSC website. This opportunity is offered as a permanent, part-time, hybrid role, working 21 hours across 3-5 days per week.

Reporting to the Content Manager and working as part of the Media and Communications team, some of your responsibilities will include (please see the full job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):

  • Developing brilliant ideas to tell the story of the RSC
  • Engaging with multiple departments to write and edit content, which supports the RSC communications, marketing and fundraising activities, raising brand awareness
  • Supporting the Content Manager in creating written content, helping with the day to day running of the RSC website and maintaining the site as a dynamic content hub
  • Being an expert user of the RSC’s content management system
  • Proofreading, editing and approving a wide range of content
  • Helping to develop and deliver the RSC content strategy
  • Managing the RSC’s YouTube channel and supporting the Social Media Manager to generate relevant content for other social channels
  • Deputising for the Content Manager when required.

You will be working in a creative department where building strong relationships with stakeholders across many varied teams is essential. It is a fast-paced environment with multiple projects being worked on at once, so time management and balancing priorities is key.

To be suitable for this position, you should have:

  • Significant experience of working in communications, marketing, social media and/or journalism
  • Experience in telling great stories through words and pictures
  • Experience of working with images – resizing and simple photo manipulation
  • Excellent written English, with the ability to write compellingly for target audiences
  • Confidence to work with and build strong working relationships with senior colleagues, artists and creative teams, to develop ideas, drive a brief and deliver amazing content.

This position is based in Stratford-upon-Avon. You will be working 21 hours per week, which can be over 3- 5 days, although some flexibility will be required according to workload and there will be occasional evening, weekend working along with some travel in the UK away from base. The post offers hybrid and flexible working.
