Cardboard Citizens creates work with and for people who experience homelessness, inequity, or poverty. We make theatre, art and training which challenges injustice and empowers individuals to make change for themselves, and in their communities. We deliver life changing theatre and vocational theatre training, reaching over 7,000 people each year.
We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate Engagement Coordinator to join our team. This crucial role will provide administrative, delivery and pastoral support for the Cardboard Citizens Membership programme – supporting people with experience of homelessness, poverty, or inequity to access both Cardboard Collective (our music and live events programme for young people aged 16- 25) and the Workshop Programme (for all Members 18+, offering quality creative opportunities).
The Engagement Coordinator will be the first point of contact between Cardboard Citizens’ Members and the Delivery Team and will provide a key link in communication. The role will be predominantly based at Cardboard Citizens HQ, a busy office and workshop space with multiple events happening. The successful candidate will be an exemplary communicator and confident engaging with a people from a range of backgrounds, as well as a skilled multitasker with the ability to prioritise and get things done to ensure the space is well supported for our Members.
Salary: £26,000
Contract: 1 year contract (subject to 2-month probation) with option to renew
Hours: Full Time/ 37.5 hours a week (some weekends and evenings required).
Holiday: 25 days plus statutory public holidays pro-rata.
Place of work: Cardboard Citizens’ offices, 77A Greenfield Road, London, E1 1EJ. This role is likely to be based in the office or on site for most of the working week.
Notice Period: 1 week during probation and 2 months thereafter.

Works closely with: Aliyah Forde (Youth Engagement Manager – Cardboard Collective Programme Manager) and Jack Wakely (Producer – Workshop Programme Manager), Jessie Wyld (Head of Engagement).
Pension: Cardboard Citizens offers a 6% employer contribution pension scheme and complies with the employer pension duties concerning pensions auto-enrolment in accordance with Part 1 of the Pensions Act 2008.
