Strike A Light and The Multi-Story Orchestra are looking for someone to join us as a Music Workshop trainee practitioner for an upcoming project Strike A Light in schools. If you’re enthusiastic about working collaboratively with young musicians, developing new exciting music, and leading engaging and inspiring sessions, we’d love to hear from you.
About you
You might be new to working with an orchestra and with leading creative sessions, but you may have had some experience working with young musicians and creating new pieces of music.
We’re looking for people who:
- Are a confident musician, of any genre and on any instrument (including singers). Much of the music making will include using our voices, and body percussion, so you should be comfortable working in this way
- Are creative music-makers, comfortable with improvising and developing new pieces of music
- Are confident communicators, happy to lead group sessions
- Is passionate about working with young people, ensuring that they have an equal voice in the creative process
- Are excited by Strike a Light and The Multi-Story Orchestra’s work and want to work in line with their values
- Are keen to work as part of a team, and collaborate with other music leaders
- Can use their initiative, develop new ideas and work to a deadline
- Is looking to develop and build upon their existing skills as a workshop facilitator
