Talawa enters an exciting new phase of our development; delivery partner for London Borough of Culture, Black Joy season, new early years programme and exciting new commission for our 40th Birthday in 2026, a new post funded by John Ellerman has been created.
The Senior Producer collaborates closely with the Artistic Director and Executive Director to realise the creative potential of Talawa Theatre Company’s work, leads the Production Department and oversees the Black Artistry, Black Artistry Online strategies and the upcoming Black Joy Season.
Our ambition for Black Joy Season is to make a significant step-change from our previous work by developing a Black-Led production that would be fit to be transferred to the West-End. Delivering the season in partnership with UK venues and two commercial partners, we have the commercial support and credentials to develop a West End-ready production that puts promoting and celebrating Black and ethnically diverse performers, creative team, producers and stage management at the heart of our productions. We are committed to working towards a more diverse theatre and cultural industry.
