Applecart Arts are launching Springboard Festival from 22nd January – 18th February 2024. We know that there are increasingly fewer spaces for emerging artists to explore, make and create. Over this new festival, we’re so excited to fill Applecart to the brim with shows, comedy, dance, music, visual arts, film, workshops, poetry, spoken word, podcasts and much more.
We’ll be offering:
- Pay What You Can rehearsal space to all companies involved on a first-come first-served basis in the weeks leading up to the launch of the festival.
- We’ll provide fully equipped spaces, complete with lighting, sound and AV equipment for each event (note: no backline)
- Marketing and technical support for your event. In most cases, we’ll provide a technician to support your get in, and then you’ll need to have your own stage manager/operator.
- Wherever possible, we’re offering high-quality archive recordings of your show. Whilst we can offer full live streaming from our venue, this comes with a very large price tag, so we’re doing a scaled back and more affordable version where we can film your show from one single fixed camera.
- Events will run for up to one week, and several shows will take place in the same space.
At this stage, we’re keen to highlight that whilst we’re open to conversations, we anticipate that events will be on a box office split basis vs a small guarantee to us. If you haven’t come across this before, we’ll happily talk you through it should your application be successful.
