It is expected that the Technical Coordinator will take ownership of the theatre space, protecting the integrity of its standard set up as numerous companies pass through it. This requires taking responsibility for ongoing maintenance of the theatre space and in particular, ensuring technical

A large part of the role will be supporting co-producing companies in the lead up to their get in, including attending production meetings, answering technical enquiries about the space and in house equipment, reviewing risk assessments, get in and get out plans, construction phase plans
and method statements, as well as their set, lighting and sound plans. You will be responsible for sourcing, scheduling, managing and training in-house freelance technicians for any additional shifts the building requires (on top of contract hours and after your first refusal). This is encompassing of get in/get outs for all productions taking place within Theatre503, and any company requests for extra technical support operators.
You will also be responsible for managing the technical requirements the new 503Studio in Nine Elms and supporting in the plans for its eventual opening. The Technical Coordinator will work alongside the General Manager on any events at the 503Studio that requires technical support and knowledge. Additionally, as Theatre503 grows we are also looking to upgrade our current equipment which the Technical Coordinator would lead on.
This is the ideal role for an early career theatre technician or production manager, as the role allows for flexibility alongside other work if and when needed. You will need a proven experience in technical aspects of a theatre in order to be able to support the technical requirements of the
space and the demands of varying incoming companies. You may also have a level of specialism in either lighting, sound, AV or production management. You should be proactive and have a proven level ofdedication, care and ownership toward that which you apply yourself.
